WINTER WORRIES!

The weather of 2011 was unforgettable!  We had eveything Mother Nature could throw at us.  The best way to avoid winter’s worries is to be prepared.  Here are some safety tips to help keep you safe and warm.

FURNACE CHECK-UP- Contract you heating contractor to have your annual servicing.  This may help prevent “puff-backs”, “frozen pipes” and will help save you extra dollars in fuel to keep things running smoothly.

GUTTER CLEANING- Keeping your gutters free of leaves and debris will help prevent ice dams.  This may cause extensive water damage if we have snow and ice.

TEMPERATURE ALARM- If you are lucky enough to escape the New England temperatures and travel to a warmer climate for extended periods, you may consider installing a Temperature Alarm system.  This will sent an alert if your home’s inside temperature drops because of loss of power or failure of a fuel delivery.  Many claims for frozen pipes have been avoided with this system.  This could cause damage to your home and your valuable contents.
